You know...
Apr. 6th, 2010 11:33 amI can empathize with those who spend this week memorializing Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley, and mourning their suicides (yes, a self-administered drug overdose is a suicide, even if it MIGHT be accidental). Whether you liked them or not, they were pioneering voices in music. But guys, April 4 was the anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., and I didn't hear one single word about that. It just seems wrong to me.

Date: 2010-04-08 02:12 pm (UTC)While you have probability on your side in assuming that a man named Rayvon is black, that does not make it a fact. It could just be a hippie misspelling of Raven. I know a white girl who named her son Ayden, as apposed to the proper spelling of Aidan.
The holding back of the victim's races is not a political action at all. It's illegal to release information about them without their permission, and it doesn't sound like any reporter has even spoken to any of them.
And considering it's New York City, it's equally likely that the victims were white, black, hispanic, asian, indian, arabic...the list goes on till you run out of races.
I wonder why you assume it's about race?
