Neither the citizens nor the market will police themselves. Given a large enough system, regulation becomes necessary.

If you trust your own safety to the self-discipline of others, you will eventually and inevitably be betrayed.

No single method of governance will work indefinitely. Nations that survive use whichever philosophy works at the time.

It is easier to make friends if you listen without speaking.

Agreed! I believe that neither free market capitalism nor socialism will solve our problems. The Left and the Right are going to have to meet in the Middle. A fairly regulated marketplace with a ton of oversight is a good first step.
