A superior species is one in which adults mate only with compatible partners, with whom they form lifelong bonds. One in which the parents are incredibly devoted to their children, and perfectly content and willing to adopt orphans.

Canada geese do that.

This is not an invitation to argument. I have had many and many an argument regarding my love of these birds. I don't care to continue. I've done my research and my homework and I have a fat stack of papers from Paramus Animal Control on the subject.

What I will say is this: it is a violation of federal and international law to harm Canada geese, or any other migratory species. With geese, the penalty can be as great as a $10,000.00 fine or 6 months in jail or both for killing them. And I will report anyone I find doing so. No one has any reason to harm them unless they are in the process of starving to death with no other reachable food source available to them. Not bloody likely where these birds live.

Don't like poop? Don't go where the poop is.

And quit fucking feeding them. These birds cease to migrate when they're fed. And quit it with the man-made ponds. Geese flock to them (pun intended). Any animal will die of malnutrition on a steady diet of bread, and waterfowl become physically addicted to it like humans to heroin. And it makes them poop more and messier. As does the filth they swim in in stagnant water.

Humans made Canada geese into a problem. Who complained about them 20 years ago? Fucking suck it up and deal. I wonder how many species all over the world think: "Damn humans. Why couldn't we have kept them in Africa?"
