The right to know? How about the responsibility to know?
Along those lines: teenagers are likely to be sexually active. Just deal with it, and teach them to be responsible. If "the talk" involves the phrase "not while you live under my roof," then you are a FAILURE as a parent. You can tell them you don't approve. You can tell them they're disappointing you. You can tell them you expected better judgement from them. You can tell them they have to get a job and pay for it themselves. But you can't stop them. Sooner or later, the opportunity for deception will arise. Few teenagers have the self-control to completely override their hormones with logic. Remember, the rise of absstinence only education contributed to the rise of teen pregnancy.
