Check out 8d and 8i, and think of how many times a day you see violations.

The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.
It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard.

So if you've got a flag shirt, or flag socks, or a flag pin, the best thing to do is to take it to your local VFW for proper disposal.

Well, one of the provisions of the Code is that the Commander in Chief can make a change anytime he deems it necessary. So Bush could have gone way beyond banning flag burning (which left VFWs across the country overflowing with unflyable flags that they couldn't get rid of) and said that flag-printed toilet paper was ok, and we would have had to deal with it.
