Writer's Block: Raining cats or dogs?

I've only ever had cats, but I love both cats and dogs. If I had a house, with a big yard, and didn't have to work a full 40 hours a week away from home, I would totally be up for a dog. I don't feel like I have the time or space to give one proper care while working full-time and living in an apartment, since my fiance also works full-time. We'll see what the future holds.
It would have to be a damn special dog, though. My cat has had some issues, so the dog would definitely have to not bother him.
