**Edit: Good point. I promise to never pitch a fit if my character dies as a result of my own stupidity. And damn right that partners should not receive preferential treatment (in plot; I'm totally behind people helping each other to better use what they have). If I saw that, I would walk.

This is like a gamer's Rorschach test. The question is which part of that event did you have a problem with…

Some say the GM should never let the a dramatic moment like that fall flat, others would be annoyed that a player walked out when the dice didn't go her way, and still more would fight the claim that girlfriends should get preferential treatment. Or any combination of the above.

I honestly can't guess which one you're saying, if any of them.
