[Error: unknown template qotd] I think that some people are never tried, but I don't think it has to do with luck or curses, just random chance. I think the majority of people in similar circumstances have the same amount of good and bad in their lives, and it's just a matter of how they respond to it. Of course, someone from a war-torn village in Africa has more potential for bad things to happen to them than someone from a wealthy suburb, but within groups of people with similar advantages, I think it's mostly about personal response. "Good luck" is rare. When someone tells me I'm lucky to have gotten through a painful time in my life, it makes me angry. It wasn't luck, it was my strength and intelligence. And most of the bad things that have happened to me have been the result of my own poor decisions.
