I would have been more pleased if he'd refused it, but I like that says he doesn't feel he deserves it.

I'm no so sure refusing it would be the best PR move either. Eh, what can ya do. I think he did what anyone could in his position.

I dunno, something along the lines of "I'm honored, but I don't feel that I've earned this yet," would have been okay.
