Cowardice is unnecessarily allowing fear to rule your behavior, often at the expense of others. I do not respect cowards. I often disrespect them, and they usually merit it.
Courage is feeling fear, and doing what must be done regardless of it. Courageous people are to be honored and respected.
Foolhardiness is acting bravely when there is no need. Such bravado often endangers the fool and the people around him unnecessarily.
