Well, it seems that unless I choose to ask Jay to wear garb anytime he's at an event where the Circle is as well, he will eventually not be able to hang around them. Household policy. Now, Jay's not a Marklander and not into garb. He wouldn't even go to these things if it weren't to be near me. Clearly it's not something he's interested in for himself. Just like I'm not into video games. But I can go to LAN parties and hang out and chat, or read, or fart around online, and that's not a problem with the gamers. I'm not a gamer, I'm not going to invest in consoles and games I don't want to own, and that's okay. No one is asking me to play. But if Jason is to be around the Circle, then he will have to start wearing garb. So I will eventually be asked to choose between going to events with Jason, or hanging out with the Circle at events.

I remember a time when I was told that I couldn't be part of another group and be part of the Circle, so I left the other group to be with the Circle.

I don't like being told what to do.

I choose Jason.

You will see me at events, you will see me in garb. But you will no longer see me as a part of the Circle. Not that it's a big stretch. I haven't really been involved in a long time. I'm too far away and I don't have money to spare.

I wonder if anyone who isn't told will even be able to tell that anything's changed.

It eventually becomes tough going when your group establishes a bunch of rules. Then the decision is up to your people - what's worth more? Your fellowship or their decorum? But then again, some organizations take things very seriously *ahemSCAahem*.

I took a Gameboy to Winter Althyng and thinking, 'If I were in any other group, I might get shit for doing this'.

And then I remebered that being a part of a group implies that I have ownership in it. Therefore, no one is allowed to give me a hard time. But that's just my attitude. I'm much more relaxed than I used to be in the hobby.

Sorry that you are being forced to make the choice. However, I have no problem with you dragging Jason around my tent if he's not in garb (just make sure he's still in some sort of clothing)
