Friday: had lunch with Carol. I'm like butter, I make everything better! Saw the Shots. The show was actually kind of lame and sad...same old middle-aged groupies, no one we knew was really there. My mom's pastor was drunk again, which was funny the first time. But he's a nice guy and I wouldn't want him to drive into a tree. So we left early.

Saturday: covered the windows. Didn't go to see Beowulf. But Jason snaked my bathroom sink, and we now have proof that Satan is a cat...because we found his hairball. A gigantic ball of long black hair was blocking the drain from somewhere inside the wall. Gee, I wonder where that came from? (sarcasm). Popped by mom's to find the check...not there yet. Ugh. I could really use that money. Also, stopped by the grocery store and picked up tortellini for dinner. Nummy! Watched some Buffy and went to bed.

Sometimes mundane things like that are incredibly romantic.

Sunday: Didn't go to Hainesport. The hay bales got moved on Saturday (I missed the memo) instead because of the incoming snow. There was about 20 minutes of work left to do today, and I couldn't justify driving 2 hours in the snow and spending about $40 worth of gas to do so little. I do want to let Joan know that I care about her and what she's going through, but I'll have to find another way. Jason replaced all of our dead light bulbs. Hooray for big strong provider man!

And now...not much. And it will be awesome.

I think mundane things are the most romantic. Some of the best moments [livejournal.com profile] gorillaman96 and I have are when we're just hanging about the house, making dinner. :)

We've had a bunch of those, and they're wonderful. I think if the romance is high enough, it doesn't matter if it's mundane or not, it's automatically magical.

I can't wait to get some good boots and wander Grounds for Sculpture in the snow.

hey, i didn't get the memo either until i was already there. we actually spent the whole day moving a giant pile of wood. we moved a bunch up to the house because they heat their home with their fireplace. the rest we stacked next to the chicken coop with the rest of it. we were very amazed how quickly we moved all of the wood. the pile was taller than i when we started, and very very wide and spread out. outside of that there were some minor repairs and upkeep done on the barn. i don't think there was anything else. we are planning on going down again sometime because there still is a giant spread out pile of wood that hasn't been split yet and the fences need to be tended too. was a productive day. you were probably better off not going down. your body may not have appreciated walking around on piles of wood to move into another pile. honestly, i hope next time there is more to do. with eight people there besides joan, things got done very quickly. i was actually bored a couple of times.

Yeah, I knew a lot of people were going, so once I heard there wasn't any hay to move, I figured I'd just be dead weight. I'm glad Joan's had so much help, though. I can't imagine what she must be going through.

My joints are a bit better overall than they were two years ago, but not as good as last year. It really depends on how cold it is. But thanks for remembering. I try to tough out as much as I can, so few people do.

And remember, if you're bored, create chaos.
