It exists, after a fashion, but all that makes it worthwhile is gone, in my opinion. Some of the current players will tell you differently, but their sanity is dubious at best.

Oh sweet Jeebus. I never know what to think when I see these pics. It's like looking at pictures of yourself when you had that mullet and thought you were so cool. You still wanna think you were cool... but the evidence to the contrary is staring you in the face. But man those were some fun old days.

I know some people think that they could be cool and play MR at the same time...these people are all dumb. At its highest points, MR was artistic, fun, immersive, escapist, brilliant...but never cool. I reveled in my geekery when it was fun.

The LARP can be the ultimate expression of geek goodness and joy...and that's what the "old days" represent to me.
