Giving thanks
Nov. 24th, 2007 07:37 pmIt's a couple of days late, but I needed time to process and recover.
I'm thankful that there is peace within my family. I'm thankful that none of us is fighting with another, and thankful that I know no new secrets.
I'm thankful that I have survived a financially crushing year with relatively few scars on my credit.
I'm thankful that I have survived massive losses, and finally feel like I am healing.
I'm thankful for making new friends.
I'm thankful for the unexpected resurfacing of old friends.
I'm thankful for the friends who have always been there.
I'm thankful for love--the first time I have ever felt this deeply, or this much. I am confused and amazed that such a thing can be, and grateful every day.
I'm thankful for losing everything that wasn't worth keeping, and keeping everything that is.
I'm thankful that I am myself: strong and smart and capable.
I'm thankful that I can look forward to an amazing future, and know that I can make it happen. I will make it happen.
It's been a year and a month since Craig broke up with me, and I am proud of how I have survived that loss--and the damage that the relationship did to me before it happened.
In the spirit of that, I'd say it's time for a 14 months in review:
10/06 Hello, all.
11/06 I'm going to Wizards tomorrow night (11/01).
12/06 A dear friend's father died.
01/07 Thursday night: dinner with Marc.
02/07 Got the HR promotion.
03/07 Go here.
04/07 life doesn't suck.
05/07 I'm exhausted.
06/07 There are about 8 people right now who seem to think that because I'm bitching about money, I want it given to me.
07/07 Well, Friday was craptacular.
08/07 Part the 1st: I receive a very excited email about the New Hope Chamber of Commerce Pirate Festival.
09/07 Parents were met.
10/07 Favourite Colour: midnight blue
11/07 And Happy Birthday firebow!
Well, that doesn't much explain it, does it?
Ah well, anyone who wants to know can just ask.
