I like this kid a lot, actually. She has real promise as a human being. And her mom and grandparents do her homework for her...It bothers me so much. She's not learning anything. And I think about all the work I put into my own education...it pisses me off to see someone not doing their own work. I'm very forgiving of a lot of underhanded actions, but cheating at schoolwork is not now, has never been, and never will be one of them. Do your own damn work. And her family is fucking her up in the long run by doing it for her. I had to do summer reading and book reports on top of swimming 8 hours a day when I was a kid. This girl's a gymnast; is it any different?

I work at a leasing company with this girl's mother and grandmother. Between school in the morning and gymnastics in the evening, she's in my office. And her grandmother does her homework for her instead of working. We don't really have a workload right now to speak of, and I'm far from swamped (as evidenced by the amount of time I spend online). But that's not what bugs me to begin with.
As as the girl's mom is my boss, and I've only been here two months....I don't think I should speak up yet.
I agree completely--in the end, this doesn't help kids at all. There's a definite difference between helping a kid with homework and doing it fo them. In the end, the kid doesn't learn the work, and doesn't learn to balance a schedule or prioritize.
