I just broke up with Jason. I feel really badly about it; I think he knew it was coming, but still it was a surprise. I've just been changing so much, and becoming more and more a loner. I hope he'll be ok, but I think I should leave him alone for now. He's got a lot of good friends to keep an eye on him till he's ready to deal with me.

I wouldn't say it that way; just staying with him isn't what's right for me. "Not a keeper" sounds like "not a good guy," which is absolutely not the case.

I'm a little surprised by how worried people seem to be about me. I'm doing ok; I don't think Jay's happy, but he'll be all right.

I wouldn't completely say worried, but I know that in certain relationships doing the breaking up can be just as hard as being the one broken up with, whether you want to admit it or not. As for Jay, I know he's a nice guy and all, but the concern for him would probably be better appreciated from people who know him better.

I don't think people are worried, per se. Your friends love you, care about you, and want to offer you their support. Sometimes we need people to lean on, sometimes we don't, and sometimes it is just enough to know there are people who are there who care.

I always think that on some level it's harder to be the "breaker-upper" than the "breaker-uppee". Becuase when you're the one making the decision, you have to question whether or not it's the right thing.
