I have a new job. I start July 9th, and my last day with Babies R Us is July 4th. The company is called Central Leasing, and they lease heavy-duty construction equipment. I'll be doing administrative assistant work. More than half the office is retiring soon, so there will definitely be chances to move up. Reasons for accepting this offer over staying with BRU: more money, banker's hours, weekends off, shorter commute, no uniform. A few of my coworkers have told me they're not happy I'm leaving (gratifyingly, my boss among them), but by and large people are very happy for me.

In other news: I'm largely inaccessible. I know it. I know it's frustrating for a lot of my friends. But look at my friends list. With the exception of I think 10 bands, THESE ARE ALL PEOPLE I KNOW. I cannot possibly give individual attention to everyone who wants to catch up with me. This is why I have a MySpace and a LiveJournal. I'm sorry if I don't return your calls on time, but I have too much to do. I have a job, I have home to clean and maintain (which is CONSTANT work), I have a cat to care for, I have a family, a boyfriend, roommates, and friends who take the time to PHYSICALLY come and find me. I'm sorry that I can't fit in everyone who wants their turn, but that's just physics.

Voltaire is playing the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors and I can't go. I am not happy about this. Why can't I go? Because I have OBLIGATIONS. Same reason I can't call everyone.
