Yep, still miss my dad. My mom still misses her dad and he died before I was born. That's the way that goes.
So, I decided what I want to be when I grow up: a Doula. According to Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary:
Main Entry: dou·la
Pronunciation: 'dü-l&
Function: noun
: a woman experienced in childbirth who provides advice, information, and emotional support to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth
I spend a lot of time around pregant women and babies, and for the Road to Motherhood tour, I watched a live birthing video over, and over, and over, and over, and over...
and it never phased me, even when they showed the C-section baby being born with the cord around its neck. The acid test will be the training in April. If I can handle the smell repeatedly, hello career path!
My sister-in-law and my two nieces are moving in down the block from the house I grew up in. Me=jealous.
Jacqi and I went to Grounds for Sculpture today. It was neato. She brought her camera and someday there will be pictures. No, really, I swear. Stop looking at me like that! DON'T MAKE ME GET THE SPOON!!
