so the council of three hammers is Moira of the Dark Iron, Muradin Bronzebeard (magni's brother) and a Wildhammer shaman
pretty much because the dwarves are NOT OK with having a dark iron prince

anyway
the Draennei: prophet Velen is possibly the oldest being alive on Azeroth.
he is so close to the Na'ru that he has VISIONS

night elves: Tyrande Whisperwind
she's 10,000 years old
her lover, Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage, took a nap in the Emerald Dream for like, 5,000 of those years, waking only recently
she had a rival for him, and he had a rival for her, and they may or may not be dead in outland

and King Varian Wrynn of stormwind
who is an arrogant prick
kidnapped by a dragon while his son was young, he served in orc slave pits as a gladiator

And then there's poor Garona
she was CONSTRUCTED
she thought she was half orc/half human
turns out
she's half orc/half draennei
Guldan, the orc warlock who opened the portal between outalnd and azeroth, selected her parents and conditioned her from birth to be a sleeper agent against the inhabitants of azeroth
she killed King Varian's father, and his wife
TOTALLY AGAINST HER WILL
she could not stop her body from committing the murders

And then there's Arthas Menethil, the Lich King
so
he was a paladin
and he was in love with Jaina Proudmoore, who became the leader of Theramoore eventually
but when they were kids, they had awkward, unconsummated teenage luurve
Lordaron used to be his father's kingdom
so he's out there fighting the plauge and he goes bonkers
and starts burning towns to keep the population from rising as undead
and jaina is all like wtf who are you and what have you done with my boyfriend?

but the plague wipes out Lordaron so Arthas is all about vengeance nwo
and he goes up to outland to find a way to get revenge on the Scourge
who are at the time controlled by Ner'zul the Lich King
who is "dead"
and by dead i mean his soul is alive and well in a sword
which Arthas finds eventually after betraying everyone who trusted him in Northrend. not outland. whoops
so now he's got Ner'zul's old sword...and so Ner'zul the orc warlock who has become the Lich King's soul is now living in his body
all uninvited, except arthas really kind of wanted it

so some shit happens, and arthas goes home to lordaron
but no one realizes that his soul has fused with the Lich King
[and he kills his father, Terenas Menethil, and Lordaron is overrun by the undead scourge
giving you: Tirisfal Glades, the Plaguelands, and the Ghostlands

ok so
in the course of taking the Ghostlands, the Scourge wipes out Windrunner Spire
home of Sylvanas, her parents and sister
Arthas is now totally the Lich King, and no undead have free will at this point. they all bend to him
And he sees this sexy young blood elf hunter's corpse, and raises her as a banshee for his entertainment
over time, as her will solidifies, so does her body, and eventually she leads a small group of undead to break free: the Forsaken

so the Worgen leader, King Genn Graymane
Gilneas shares a border with the former Lordaron
rather than help the alliance fight off the scourge, King Genn built his wall
which did not work out so well
and most of the Gilnean survivors have been infected with the worgen curse
some of them have managed to control the raging beast within, inlcuding Genn
SLASH
whose son was murdered under a post-Arthas exapnsionist policy of Sylvanas
Genn chose to lead his people into exile on Kalimdor, thanks to the kindess of the Night Elves, rather than strand them to be wiped out by the Forsaken
