Has ceased to suck! Further proof that I'm nuts: I got switched to proofreading orders...and I like it. It's nice to have physical proof that I've accomplished something, and I'm being paid the same.
Went to my godparent's 25th wedding anniversary party on Saturday. Always an interesting time with my Dad's side of the family.
Their anniversary was in March, and they didn't want to make a big deal of it. Uncle Bob gave Aunt Kathy the largest amount of diamond I've seen in one piece of jewelery as a gift: 25 karats across 5 stones on the pendant, plus another 3 karats on the clasp. Best quality stones I've ever seen in my life. I don't like diamonds for myself, mind, but I can appreciate what someone has to go through to get a good stone after my term at the pawnshop. And the necklace was my godfather's own design, which is really sweet. It's starkly geometric, which she loves. But that was the extent of their celebration...until my father's Aunt Joyce stepped in. I swear, this woman won't let you live your own life if she takes an interest in it. She decided that they had to have a party...at her house. And for my very proud Scottish aunt and very proud Irish uncle, she hired a German accordionist. Granted, my uncle plays the accordion, but she didn't know that. And to her niece and nephew-in-law's party, she invited 10 of HER friends whom THEY didn't know.
I have another aunt, Linda. She's not a blood relative, she married my father's younger brother, Doug. This woman was once called a cunt by her own son. When my godmother told me of this event I said "But Aunt Kathy, someone had to tell her." I have nothing else to say about her. But I love her kids. My cousin Tommy, who is 16, is going to come to the Faire with me this summer!
My dad got lost on the drive back, and what should have been 2 hours turned into 3. I slept curled up on the seat of his car.

Craig is amazing. You all know this by now. I would just like to reiterate that I HATE not being able to spend the night with him. Also, his coworkers are fucking hilarious.
