In case you hadn't noticed, most "free" credit report sites aren't free. That's because they aren't federally authorized to provide this service. There is only one bureau that is, and then it's only once a year...and most states have laws requiring you to pay for this service, even though the federal government doesn't. Here's the legit site (free to New Jersey and a few other states, read the FAQ):
