Mar. 17th, 2004 07:35 amPeople keep tellling me about how other people talk shit about me. I ignore much of it, but occasionally I hear something so ridiculous I have to react.
There's a trend at Mystic Realms of warning new people to stay away from me. Why is this? It's not like these are noble people trying to protect the noobs from some great evil. It's me. I'm a person. Not a whole lot of awful I can do, really. And if I am so bad, wouldn't people be able to figure that out on their own? Do they really need other people to help them see an asshole? Or is it that the more people actually bother to get to know me, the more they find out that I'm not a horrible person. Opinionated, yes. Bitter, yes, but less than I was and I keep working at it. Emotional, hell yes. And it's something I love about myself. Sarcastic, sure. And joke you if you can't take a fuck. I mean...
So far I've been given one name associated with this crap. And it's someone who's nice as pie to my face. But I've known she was like that for years, so I'm not surprised. I'm never surprised by some people. I'm willing to bet, though, that the majority of people who have something nasty to say about me have either never gotten to know me, or only knew me at a really low point in my life. Say, from 2000-2003.
Honestly, I don't much care anymore what people say about me. It just astounds me that adults would try to prevent other adults from making their own decisions. Am I that much of a threat? Why? Or is this just another repercussion of living in a country where our government is trying to ensure that we all get into heaven, so it's banning things that (some closed-minded) Christians say are bad for us? If they can do it, why can't the rest of us, right?
