[Error: unknown template qotd]I think that fears don't need overcoming so much as handling. Like, I fear what will happen if I can't get health insurance in the next few years. I'm handling that by researching my options, including going to Hackensack University Medical Center to get my teeth fixed up (seems like the best option for me). Phobias need to be overcome, and I'm not really sure what do to about that. I have a severe phobia of needles. Anytime I need to get a shot, or have blood taken, I explain to the person with the needle that I have a phobia, and I will cry, and that if it actually hurts I will say so. Everyone's been pretty accommodating about it, and they usually use butterfly needles for me (I have very small veins anyway) and a few nurses have even held my hand and talked to me like I'm a nervous horse or something. But how to make that reaction go away? I have no idea.

Funnily, tattoos don't do it to me. The sensation is completely different; the needle isn't invading like an IV needle is.
