I mentioned to Eric before going to bed last night that they were set to turn the LHC on at 3:10 AM, our time. And he responded "So, if we don't wake up, we know what happened".
But it turns out there's a smaller version in the US (?) that's been running since 2000. So if there haven't been real problems there, hopefully there won'tbe any with the big boy. And Stephen Hawking endorses it, and he's never wrong!
