Today I am sick. My nose has been bleeding since 8 PM, possibly longer, and my tummy and I are not currently on speaking terms. Thus, I will be seeing my doctor soon. I am displeased to be missing work again.
But, the insurance and car issues are straightened out. Car still needs much in the way of work, but the kid who hit me was insured with Allstate. And anyone who works for Allstate New Jersey owes my mom a favor. They cut a check for the car repairs within 24 hours of the release of the accident report. Booyah!
Sold my dad's coins, except for the ones my godmother is keeping. See, his watches and pipes and pocket knives remind me of happy times with him, the way he smelled and the things we shared. The coins just reminded me that he had a problem with spending money. But he knew he did, which is why he bought them instead of other things. He got the gratification he found from making expensive purchases, and he knew he'd have something to leave behind that creditors couldn't take away. There was enough stored value that I was able to give my sister-in-law $1000.00 for my nieces, take care of some bills, and save the rest. It feels good. I hope wherever he is, he knows he was able to provide for me after all.
Provided that I'm feeling better, I'll be at Shortway's Barn tomorrow night for the Shots' St. Patty's day party. It's in Hawthorne; if you can come, you should. Heading to Fox's on Saturday.
A party prophecy? Fox, is that pole built yet?
