Well, crap.
Nov. 16th, 2004 09:51 pmI'm sick with some unknown virus. Worse than a cold, but not quite flu. My sinuses itch on the inside. That's one of the worst things I've ever felt. They're so inflamed, a 6-hour dose of DayQuil lasts me 3 hours.
So, I went to a doctor. Who said don't drink anything cold, stay in warm places, and take these. And she gave me Allegra. Which is for allergies. And didn't do a damn thing for me, although it might have made my headache worse. I guess I'll call them in the morning.
I need to be able to get through a full day of work or my office will fall apart and my job will become hell. I am officially angry at the Kossoff brothers for being understaffed. There is too much to do at work now for me to magic perfect days out of my ass. I can do the work of two people in one day; I cannot do the work of five. The next time I hear someone say, "I understand," I will reply with, "Then do something about it."
A couple of receptionist jobs have floated past me since I came up here. The hours aren't as good (on paper! That's another thing.), but the pay's the same. I've let them go because I care about the people at U.S. Box. But I'm sick of working a 45-hour week and being paid for 40, especially when I'm sick half the time. They don't have to worry about me working myself into the hospital; they have to worry about me getting fed up and moving on.
