Sigh
It's the first truly beautiful night of the year, and I'm alone. The people I want to be with are either far away, already busy, going to bed early, or not talking to me and I don't know why. It's this beautiful dreamy night and I should be outside talking with someone...but there's no one to be with.
no subject
But you can always bring people in later. Take it all in. every sight, every sound, every smell, imprint them in your mind. feel it and live it. If it's your thing, bring paper and pen, and sketch or compose your reactions to the night. Eventually, you may be able to share them later:
Forever in prayer
I reach towards the heavens.
Creation’s hymns
Blow through my leaves.
As ages pass,
Children crawl upon my lap,
And brothers fall beside me.
Still I pray.
My skin grows wrinkled and rough.
And still I pray.
My limbs knot and bend under their own burdens.
Eternally I pray,
Becoming one with the majesty that surrounds me.
(inspired by the ancient oaks in Sherwood Forest)
By the way, this is going to sound a little Fifel-ish, but the night is there for people you care about, even if not at your side. In a sense, they can enjoy it with you without actually being with you.
