Flowering Kitchen Herbs

This list is not exhaustive, and it does not take into account local growing conditions. This is simply a list of common culinary herbs that are polinated by insects.

Peppermint (bees LOVE peppermint), parsely, chives, coriander/cilantro (same plant, different parts), dill, basil, thyme, marjoram, oregano, spearmint, rosemary, lavender, sage, lemon verbena

Keep an eye on your garden: spearmint is now listed as an invasive species in Michigan.

The tarragon grown for most kitchens is French tarragon, which does not usually flower.

Sweet bay is the laurel tree. It's pretty dang large. It does flower, however, and would make a bee-friendly, sweet-smelling hedge.
