Contact Your Senators
This is something my brother wrote for his local paper. I think it's a really great idea and I'd love to see it presented in Washington. Pass it on.

"Haitian relief as job stimulus"
A Senate-sponsored program in which unemployed Americans may be hired as independent contractors to help with the recovery and reconstruction of Haiti after the earthquake would be beneficial on many fronts.
With donations pouring in, taxpayer money would not have to be touched. I’d rather see this money go to honest workers, hunger relief and medical care than go to the corrupt Haitian officials.
There is an immediate need for work in Haiti and immediate financial problems for the unemployed here. If you believe this idea could help, contact your local representative.
