Y'all are going to have to work out your own faire plans for tomorrow. I had a family thing come up.

So, thunderstorms all day tomorrow at the PA faire. If that doesn't change some, I don't think the road trip will be worth it. I'm remembering the last faire that got rained out...

Got some bad family news. Gonna be spending a lot of time on WoW blowing shit up.

They called the PA Faire on account of rain this past Saturday, so the day was spent slacking in my living room. I finally got to see 13th Warrior, for which I am really happy. Gymkata is such a bad movie Vista refused to play it. I will post my photos from Kev G.'s birthday party sooner or later; I was too busy slacking this weekend to get to it.

Going to try for the faire again this coming Saturday.

So what would YOU put on a T shirt?

I've been borrowing Jay's car for the past couple of days while he carpools with a coworker who lives in our complex. I had to get my brakes done: front & rear brakes & rotors, and rear calipers. And yet, it's the cheapest brake job I've ever had done. I question the honesty of north Jersey mechanics.

So, I've been reading www.crazyauntpurl.com lately, and beyond making me want to learn to knit, it's made me want to figure out how I became such an angry person. I carry it around with me and it gets in the way sometimes. And of course it's not just one event, it's lots of them, and bad timing, and people hurting my feelings and breaking my trust. But one thing among them is standing out at the moment, so I thought I might get it out.

BUT! I'm taking Heather to the Faire tomorrow! So you know that means pictures. AND I caught up on paying down my student loan this morning.

This song always makes me nostalgic for the nomad days:

We spotted the ocean at the head of the trail
Where are we going, so far away
And somebody told me that this is the place
Where everything's better, everything's safe
Walk on the ocean
Step on the stones
Flesh becomes water
Wood becomes bone
And half and hour later we packed up our things
We said we'd send letters and all those little things
And they knew we were lying but they smiled just the same
It seemed they'd already forgotten we'd came

Now we're back at the homestead
Where the air makes you choke
And people don't know you
And trust is a joke
We don't even have pictures
Just memories to hold
That grow sweeter each season
As we slowly grow old

Date night on a miserable rainy night with a nearly-but-not-quite healed lump on my head = takeout sushi and catching up on TrueBlood. Lovely way to spend the night with my honey.

Friday night is 80s night at QXT with Melissa and possibly my bro. More people should come.

Saturday Justin and [livejournal.com profile] dagdalorijane are coming over for a WOW day.

Sunday is Midsummer Faire with [livejournal.com profile] dagdalorijane and [livejournal.com profile] cosmic_hiccup.

Jay's grandma thinks I'm pretty. :D

Wicked Faire is tomorrow!

There's a social network site just for faire, so if you're new and want to get to know what it's like and make some friends before the event, you can sign up and go through my profile.

Look at the members page. You'll know me when you see me.

Worry handled. All is well. I really need to slow down, though. I rush too much.

Also....holy cow. I've become bored of the Renn Faire. WTF, mate?

08/17. worked. saw Lost Legion (Last Legion? can't remember). I liked it, no one else did. But then, sometimes I just like awful.
08/18. went to Faire. Saw everyone except Zack. Sang for Matteo & it made him cry. Cause I'm awful. Yeah, that's why. Uh huh.
08/19. wandered around Grounds for Sculpture in the rain with some of the old TCNJ people. Cozied up in Dave's house with some pizza. Becca and Jake came by. Got some good/wonderfully awful music.

Back at work and surrounded by kittens.

Drove down to Flemington Friday night.

Visited Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton on Saturday. A few new pieces, a peachick, and about 2 hours of walking in the sun. Then went to a post-wedding luau, only to discover that the bride in question is Carol from MR! Got to catch up a bit with [livejournal.com profile] thegreyeminence, and finally met Kevin Pease, whose work I've been following for years here (well, not precisely there, but you get the idea): http://www.absurdnotions.org/
Got to see Stardust. Oh. My. God. The Princess Bride is now part of a genre as opposed to a stand-alone film. Wonderful. Go see it. Of course it's not 100% faithful to the book. No movie ever can be, and Gaiman has a habit of rambling. But it's a marvelous translation of the work to the screen, and if it's good enough for Gaiman, it's good enough for me. Took a trip down to TCNJ in the middle of the night to discover that the new science COMPOUND has a gorgeous fountain/art installation in its center courtyard. Wonder if they restored the theater major?

Took Heather to the NY Renn Faire on Sunday, and discovered how difficult it is to wrangle a small child and 7 friends at once. She really is an adorable, tiny bulldozer. I love that kid.

And here I am, tanned, sore, and very, very happy.

I will definitely have my niece this Sunday at NY Renn. Come marvel at her awesome cuteness! I challenge anyone to resist her "buy me candy" face!

Also, Lee is talking to me again. It's been so long...trying not to completely freak out and get my hopes up. But you know me, or you wouldn't be reading this.

Part the 1st: I receive a very excited email about the New Hope Chamber of Commerce Pirate Festival. I am, of course, very excited.

Part the 2nd: I get decked out in Pirate Gear that Saturday, ready to stalk the streets in search of booty.

Part the 3rd: Where are all the bloody pirates? None, not one! The staff of the Medieval Gallery simply do not count!

Part the 4th: I am sweaty and crabby, and desperately in need of food. I change out of the corseted awesomeness and into my Care Bears t-shirt, and have a lovely time, even without pillaging.

One of Aimee's hedgehogs, Peach, has to be put down today. The growth on her face was probably cancer, and her paralysis just advanced too far. She couldn't be made comfortable anymore. Hopefully Aimee will let me take her out after work.

For the first time in a while: How to Find Me!

Go to the Pirate Festival in New Hope this weekend.
Go to the New York Renaissance Faire on August 12 ([livejournal.com profile] brunomik, I'm looking at you)
